2008 FEATURED ARTISTS AND AUTHORS
J. CORSENTINO
Joseph Corsentino has always been attracted to science fiction and fantasy. Born in Bogota, Columbia in August 1978 and immediately adopted by a Long Island, American-Italian family, Joseph's bi-cultural background gave him an amazing imagination. Joseph spent his youth creating videos, writing, and studying temporal theories. After years of study in photography, Joseph began work of "Time of the Faeries" project, a project inspired by many of the people he knew growing up, which merged his photographic talents with his deep interest in fantasy. His take on the faerie lore is based on urban myths, our current political climate, and the spirits who carry on none the less. While beautiful, it contains his vision of the chaos and tragedy that is present in a fading, counter culture. For more visit timeofthefaeries.com

MAXINE GADD
Born Maxine Saunders in Worcestershire, England, she was a shy child who preferred drawing to playing with friends. In 1967, her family immigrated to Australia and there her artistic talents flourished. Maxine first exhibited her drawings at school and then at community art shows, won numerous awards, and by the age of 12 was selling her paintings.
At 15 she chose to leave school, deciding to explore the field of graphic design at a technical college but soon left to focus on her own world of art. Finding she missed being involved with other artists, Maxine returned to college and received a diploma in Graphic Design, and won the prestigious John Lunghi Award for “Outstanding Artistic Design.” At college she briefly met Will Gadd and by chance, they met again some time later and after a brief courtship were married. During their honeymoon, Maxine began work on a fairy book with Will. His support, both emotionally and financially, allowed her the freedom to devote herself completely to her art. Although Maxine paints many subjects, her distinctive approach to Fairies and Mermaids are what have truly captivated her fans around the world. For more visit www.fataraworld.com
